Elderly residents from Quadring marked the 65th anniversary of the annual senior citizens’ party last Friday.

The party, which was held in the Quadring Church Hall, saw 108 retired villagers come together to celebrate the occasion.

They celebrated the annual tradition by enjoying a drink with their meal and reminiscing with other senior citizens on their lives.

First celebrated in 1949, the event has since been supported by committee members who fund the party every year with a variety of activites including selling raffle tickets door to door throughout the year.

The annual party committee is also thankful for the generous donations made by village members in order to support the event.

Lawrence Crosby and Jean Reid, both of whom are in their nineties and have spent most of their lives living in Quadring, are the two eldest members of the village and had the opportunity to cut the cake during the party.
