EXPLORER scouts painted play equipment at Holbeach’s Carter’s Park in primary colours for UK Scouts Community Week, the updated version of Bob-a-Job week.

They got out their scrapers and paintbrushes on Saturday to help the community on tasks suggested by Holbeach Parish Council.

In the park, four leaders and 18 Explorers aged 14 to 18 painted swings, seesaws and rockers, a shelter, six wooden benches and the windows of the bowls clubhouse, before moving on to brighten up the town scout and guide hut’s fence and gates.

The one-day effort was sponsored by local businesses.

This weekend they’re packing bags to raise funds at B&Q in Spalding.
