PLANS for a development of more than 40 new homes in Spalding have been put forward to South Holland District Council.
Reliant Building Contractors is hoping to secure outline planning permission to build 42 properties on land off Kings Road.
This is the second time an application has been made for the site, although there are now 18 fewer homes than the previously withdrawn plans.
According to the proposals, the site would be accessed off Kings Road to the south of a listed building known as The Gatehouse.
It is proposed the 19 four-bedroom and 23 three-bedroom homes will take their appearance from The Gatehouse.
The plans state: “They are what are best termed two-and-a-half storied dwellings, most with one dormer windowed bedroom on the third floor but two dwellings have two bedrooms on the third floor. At least one car parking space is provided per dwelling.”
The developers say the homes are “unlikely to give rise to an increase in traffic generation and therefore is unlikely to have a detrimental effect on the local road network”.
Addressing the economic climate, the plans say an appraisal was carried out for the scheme to show it can achieve a low profit margin. However, this would mean no affordable housing contribution.
