COMPETITORS are needed for a scarecrow competition in Surfleet.
The Surfleet Community Group is holding the event in the run up to its Celebrate Surfleet day on September 18.
Entrants pay £5 and should design a scarecrow in any way they wish and put it on show in their front garden from September 4. The winner will announced at the Celebrate Surfleet day and will pocket half of the money raised in entrance fees, with the other half going towards next year’s running costs.
Celebrate Surfleet is in its second year and will feature a fete and fun dog show.
Anyone interested in entering the scarecrow contest should call committee deputy chairman Tony Blissett on 01775 680588 or call into the village shop.
