A GOSBERTON butcher has won the top title at Sausage Fest 2011.
Organised by Chris Crew and a group of his friends in Weston, Sausage Fest 2011 was their third annual barbecue-based event.
Chris said: “It’s our antidote to mass-produced supermarket bangers where we taste-test and rank sausages produced by traditional south Lincolnshire butchers.”
Marks out of ten are awarded for flavour, texture and overall sausage experience, with the final scores being an average of the totals for each sausage.
Sharpe’s of Gosberton secured their third title in a row with a score of 7.48 out of ten, narrowly beating second-placed Frisby’s of Moulton Chapel, and Spalding’s George Adams’ 1910 recipe into third.
