STAFF at Sainsbury’s Spalding store chose Macmillan Cancer Support to raise cash for over Jubilee weekend after five colleagues were diagnosed with the disease last year.

Customers have since endorsed their choice by voting for the same charity to become Sainsbury’s Local Charity Partner for 2012/13.

The store raised £1,500 for last year’s partner, the Agape Food Bank.

The staff’s Jubilee efforts raised more than £800 which was handed over to Macmillan Cancer Support’s local branch.
