TWENTY stunning framed photographs are brightening up waiting rooms and lounges at Holbeach Community Hospital thanks to the Rotary Club of Holbeach.

Club president Helen Scott, fellow Rotarians and photographers presented the prints to the hospital manager, Loraine Wigston, and hospital trustees.

Mrs Scott said: “During a Rotary visit to the unit, Loraine and her staff agreed that bare walls in a few areas could be greatly improved by colourful photos – images that would attract and occupy children in the waiting room, local scenes to bring back memories for older residents or just to provide colourful decoration for staff and patients.”

Club member Paul Smith, an amateur photographer, set up a competition with Spalding Photographic Club to submit images so hospital staff and residents could pick their favourites.

Images from six photographers were chosen and Paul arranged for them to be enlarged and framed.

Mrs Scott said: “Everyone was pleased with the result – even one of the photographers said he had never realised the impact of enlargement and framing.”

Rotarians have previously helped the hospital with projects such as upgrading television aerials and buying furniture.
