CANCER patient Ron Thomson’s family hope to raise over £1,000 with their latest fundraiser.

Ron Thomson (70), of Woodgate Road, Moulton Chapel, suffers with pancreatic cancer and is the inspiration behind the latest event being organised by his family to coincide with Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

They are hosting a Christmas bazaar, with the aim of collecting more than £1,000 towards research into the disease.

The Christmas bazaar, which is being held at the Moulton Chapel Youth and Community Centre on November 27, is the fourth event held by the family. One of Ron’s granchildren, Fiona Sewell, has collected about half of the 200 prizes for the various raffles and tombolas which range from shopping vouchers to bottles of wine. The event will run from 11am-4pm.
