An ex-Holbeach parish councillor is returning to the role after a 17-month break.

Coun Terry Harrington, a past chairman of the council who resigned in May 2015 after 36 years’ service, was co-opted as a member for the Hurn Ward at October’s parish council meeting.

Last August, Coun Harrington was made a Freeman of the Parish of Holbeach in recognition of his long service to the town which, along with his wife Jill, total 75 years.

Coun Harrington had previously held the posts of chairman and vice chairman, while Mrs Harrington was a former clerk and deputy clerk.
