RED, while and blue balloons have been flying over Cowbit to promote the village’s Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
A balloon race will be part of the celebrations at the village playing field on Saturday, June 2.
Sponsor Aron Moyses went along to meet organisers at the village hall on Saturday for the official launch of the sale of balloon race tickets.
Mr Moyses, who has a home improvement business in Spalding, has done a lot of work at the village hall and agreed to sponsor the race.
Organiser Darren Harper said: “We are very grateful to Mr Moyses for agreeing to sponsor the balloon race, for all the work he has done at the hall and his continued interest in the village.
”We can now look forward to a spectacular balloon race at the jubilee celebrations.”
Activities at the celebrations include a punt gun salute, a 15th century battle re-enactment, a barbecue, live bands and fireworks.
Tickets for the balloon race, which are being sold in aid of village hall funds, can be bought from Mr Moyses shop in Winsover Road, the village hall and on the day.
