VINTAGE vehicles ranging from a Morris Minor van from the 1960s to an 1920s Aston Martin Lagonda were on display in Spalding Market Place on Sunday morning.

About 44 cars in total were in the town as members of Spalding & East Elloe Classic Car Club readied themselves for what is probably the biggest event of their year, a full day classic car run.

Club secretary Joy Mann – she and husband Nigel, who is club chairman, own the Morris Minor van – said the club’s 80 members take part in a number of events in the year, mainly centring on summer evening drives ending in a pub meal. “When the weather is good people are more inclined to bring out their precious motors,” explained Joy, who said some members had two, three or even four classic cars.
