CHILDREN at Whaplode Primary School celebrated World School Milk Day with the help of South Holland and the Deepings MP John Hayes.

Mr Hayes popped into the school to hand out milk to the childen as part of celebrations in thousands of schools across more than 30 countries.

The day encourages children to drink milk and teaches them about its benefits.

Whaplode Primary School promotes milk as it adds to their Healthy School Status, which aims to improve child health, raise pupil achievement and improve social inclusion.

Mr Hayes said: “Milk is my favourite drink.

“That’s why I’m supporting the School Milk Scheme to help children grow strong bones and sharp minds.”
