HUNDREDS flocked to Bourne Festival at the weekend to enjoy all the fun of the fair, arena events and live music, including a performance by Queen tribute band QEII.

Organised by Bourne Round Table, the festival was opened on Friday by the mayor of Bourne, Helen Powell, accompanied by her consort, John Venn.

There was a full programme of outdoor activities on Saturday, but rain scaled those down on Sunday.

Tabler Richard Ludlow said: “We had to postpone some of the outdoor activities but we managed to keep ourselves going and we had several hundred people here throughout the day.”

The festival was brought to a close last night by an Abba tribute band and there was an Abba fancy dress competition for the public to enjoy.
