TUNEFUL Tudors were the order of the day when musical historian Dante Ferrara was the special guest at Gedney Hill Primary School for an afternoon.

Pupils in Years 3 to 6 are studying the dynasty that ruled England from 1485-1603 and aspects of Tudor life are popping up in all curriculum subjects, including maths and English.

Dante donned Tudor dress for his visit and took along ten Tudor instruments – some copies and some authentic – explained how they were made and played them.

He also taught the youngsters several Tudor songs and some dances.

Headteacher Lynn Chappell said: “Dante talked about his own costume and explained how the costumes for rich and poor people would be very different.”
