Calling the Tune by Tulip Radio

The ever-popular Pumpkin Festival return to Spalding on Friday and promises to be spectacular.
The event is sponsored by David Bowman Pumpkins Ltd - the largest Pumpkin growers in the UK - who produce over 3.5 million of the popular orange fruits each year.
David Bowman grows his entire crop locally and sells to all the major UK supermarkets - and I have been looking after my pumpkin (pictured) for a whole year.
The festival takes over Spalding town centre and will see street performances from the Courgettes, as well as Balloonatic, plus Pumpkin themed stalls.
Early evening sees Tulip Radio compering the popular Children’s Fancy Dress Competition, sponsored by The Lions in the Market Place, from the senior section of the Competition the winner will ride on the Pumpkin Coach in the parade at 6.30pm.
There’s musical entertainment from 5pm on the main stage featuring many local acts perfoming live for everyone.
The parade leads off from the Sheep Market at 6.30pm and this year the route is slightly different in that it comes down through the Crescent before returning to the Market Place.
To conclude the evening there’s the traditional fantastic firework display at 7.35pm which is fired from the roof of the South Holland Centre. The event will close at 8pm which makes it an ideal opportunity for families to enjoy the sights and sound of an autumn evening in Spalding.
