A day of fun and frolics at a village pub means a charity is £1,000 better off.

The Black Bull in Holbeach was buzzing with live music, barbecue, face-painting and other antics – including one customer having half of his moustache shaved off for the cause.

The day itself raised £900, with the final total being boosted with a £100 donation from the town’s Chosen charity shop.

The money will all go to the Make a Wish Foundation, which grants wishes for terminally ill children.

Landlady Yvonne Harris thanked everyone who had donated money, raffle prizes or their time to make the event possible.

She said: “Despite the cold wind we had an excellent turn out with lots of people braving the weather to make it a memorable and enjoyable events.”
