IT’S probably not that often that the Pope will be seen partying with Dolly Parton, but that was just what happened in Spalding last weekend.
They were just two of the fancy dress party-goers who enjoyed a Night at the Movies for a fundraising party in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, and Spalding’s Vista Crew – a drop-in service for young people.
The event was organised by the Vista Crew on behalf of one of the regular members Karl Sargent, who has been under he care of the leading children’s hospital since he was born.
And Dolly Parton, aka Ros Lukins, one of the Vista Crew’s volunteers, said the event – which also saw Karl’s dad Dave have his hair shaved off – was a huge success and “lots of fun”.
Great Ormond Street Hospital will now receive £500 and the Vista Crew will get £480 from the proceeds of the event.
