Lincolnshire Police appears to have abandoned its project to extend Spalding Police Station into the nearby Queensgate Hotel on Westlode Street.

New plans have been drawn up for a house of multiple occupation (HMO) on the first and second floors – while retaining the ground floor King’s Head bar and a carvery – following the sale of the property.

The plans have submitted to the district council by Mr A Smith, care of M W Architectural Services, of Wimberley Way, Pinchbeck.

Background documents say previous planning consents given to Lincolnshire Police Authority have expired, one granted in 2009 for offices and a second in 2011 for a first-floor extension, alterations and refurbishment.

The HMO proposal includes 11 en suite bedrooms on the first floor. It is proposed the second floor will keep an existing kitchen as well as provide a second kitchen, communal living room and laundry room.
