HEALTH MATTERS: By Jenny Hinchliffe, Head of Clinical Services for the South at Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust
We have been busy focusing on staffing and recently held a recruitment event at Johnson Community Hospital. It was lovely to meet local people who had not previously thought about a career in health, along with those already working in health and care that are looking for a change in direction or a new opportunity .
We have lots of opportunities across a number of clinical and non-clinical roles
We enjoyed showing people around our services and the fantastic facilities that the hospital has to offer. We were also able to introduce them to our community team who are also based within the hospital.
If you missed this event and are interested in working for Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) it is not too late. We have lots of opportunities across a number of clinical and non-clinical roles. We are dedicated to putting patients at the heart of everything we do and want to ensure that our commitment to improving quality services and the experience of our patients is underpinned by our commitment to all our staff.
LCHS has been shortlisted in the Health Service Journal’s and Nursing Times’ Top 100 Best Places To Work 2015 and we will always aspire to be an organisation which staff are proud to work for and one they would recommend to provide care for their own families.
In addition to dedicated occupational health and counselling services, we have an innovative physiotherapy service for staff which has recently been nominated for a National Patient Safety award.
Our career framework is under constant review to ensure we are able to support staff in maintaining existing skills, developing new skills and identifying how they can move to the next step in their career. We work with The Lincoln College Group to provide a number of apprenticeships in Business and Administration and Health and Social Care in Spalding and right across the county. Additionally, we offer a range of work experience placements for students. Our team at Johnson Community Hospital have been providing work experience opportunities for several years and recently received an EBP Investors In Education Award in recognition of partnership with local schools.
