Plea to fight against fly-tipping

RESIDENTS in Sutton Bridge are being called upon to do their bit in the fight against flytipping.

Coun Michael Booth made a plea for incidents to be reported at Sutton Bridge Parish Council’s meeting. Giving his report as district councillor, he said he had been made aware of problems on land off Chestnut Terrace.

“We have got to do all that we can to try and stop this and the only way is if anyone knows or sees anyone, or can look at certain streets or roads, please take down the vehicle make and registration number,” he said.

The area has not been flagged up as a problem to South Holland District Council.

However, Coun Malcolm Chandler, portfolio Holder for environmental protection, said: “The council takes fly-tipping very seriously and operates a zero tolerance approach.”
