LISA Bovington (11) was crowned Pinchbeck Carnival Queen at a family disco in the village hall on Friday.

The carnival committee’s royal line-up is completed by princesses Robyn Carter (10) and Phoebe Wright (8).

Eleven contestants vied for the three roles and they were interviewed by Chris Bettinson before the three judges announced their final verdicts.

Judges were Spalding’s newly-crowned Flower Queen, Amy Harrison, Moj Taylor and Tulip Radio’s Jan Whitbourn.

Lisa received prize money of £30, Robyn £20 and Phoebe £10.

Among those attending was Suzanne Waltham, of Pinchbeck’s Killenaule Hair Studio, who takes care of the Pinchbeck royal family’s hairstyles on carnival day.

Mr Bettinson also took charge of the disco on the night.

Carnival committee member Jane Amess said the event attracted a decent turnout but it would have been nice to have seen more people there.

Pinchbeck Carnival takes place on June 9 and is themed on the Olympics as the games are held in London this summer.
