NEW guidelines on serving the best interests of Pinchbeck residents have been adopted by parish councillors.
A code of conduct setting out the standards expected of councillors and their responsibilities to the community was signed at a meeting last Monday.
The code is based on guidelines also used by South Holland District Council and cover areas including integrity, openness, accountability and honesty.
By adopting the code, parish councillors are committed to actions such as championing residents’ needs, listening to the interests of all sections of the Pinchbeck community and treating people with respect.
All local authorities, including county, district and parish councils, are required to have a code of conduct after Government legislation was brought in five years ago.
