OVER the last two summers a team of professional archaeologists have been working with amateurs on a community dig in Pinchbeck, and an illustrated lecture by Kevin Trott, the lead archaeologist, will take place at Spalding Grammar School on Friday at 8pm, as part of the Spalding Gentlemen’s Society season of lectures.

Interest in the site arose from the discovery of stone structures and finds by metal detectorists and there are indications of a moated manor house and a market.
