STAFF and students in Newton House at Peele Community College, Long Sutton, have raised £1,600 for a children’s hospice after holding a host of events.

They visited East Anglian Children’s Hospice site at Quidenham and saw its work first hand.

Student Jodie Belverstone said: “The reality came when we saw a wall of photos of children and babies who have stayed at the hospice, some of whom have died since.”

Events included a novelty stationery stall, making and selling craft items and discos.

Teacher Therasa Earl said the trip was an amazing experience.

She said: “Our fundraising team is expanding as more and more students want to share the passion of raising money for good causes.”

This year they will support Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
