A COUPLE who have been searching for their cat for five weeks have been reunited with him.

Alan and Pat Burlton, of Holyrood Road, Donington, had been placing adverts in the paper and making pleas on the radio after Tommy, a white cat with a bushy tail, ran away from Spalding Recycling Centre.

He had gone into the couple’s trailer and shot out when they stopped in West Marsh Road.

He went under one of the big containers before running off towards Spalding Power Station.

He was finally trapped and caught in Willesby Road by Jean and Pete Warboys.

Mrs Burlton said she was “overjoyed” to be united with Tommy.

She said: “We would like to thank everybody who telephoned after seeing the adverts in the paper, even though up until the week before we found him they were false trails.

“We welcomed any sightings.”
