GUARDIAN ANGEL: The latest news from our girl about town

Angel noticed some weeks ago that Flowers N Things had done something rather lovely with the old Watkins curtains and carpets shop next door to them in Red Lion Street in Spalding. The main shop is always worth a visit, and the business next door looks just as good – part Christmas shop and part lovely interiors and ideas for upcycling furniture. Check it out for yourselves.

• We change the clocks twice a year and Angel and ‘im indoors have been doing it for some years now so why is it that every year a clock somewhere in the house gets overlooked?

• An accordionist brought a flavour of the Café de Paris to rainy Spalding on Wednesday lunchtime (as unlikely as that sounds!)with some great playing and typically French tunes. Bravo!

• The latest health scare this week – that processed meats, such as certain sausages , could cause cancer – must be good news for local butchers.

Lincolnshire sausage makers are the best in the business and all use fresh local meat and herbs. So support your local butcher and stay healthy at the same time.

• Did you see the new ‘Fitness Factor’ page in our sister paper the Lincolnshire Free Press this week?

Every week, personal trainer Zoe Myall is publishing a programme of exercises that can be done in the home and with no gym equipment.

Angel tried the first routine in the comfort of her living room on Tuesday and worked up a right glow (Angels don’t sweat).

Next week is going to be a challenge though, as Angel has heard that the dreaded sit-ups and push-ups will be involved.
