MORE than 50 people turned up for British Red Cross Open Gardens scheme held in Liz Dixon-Spain’s garden in Holbeach Hurn.

The day was a part of a series of events, which help to fund schemes such as Fire and Emergency Support Service and first aid.

The day, which raised £250, offered a tombola stall, books and cards.

Mrs Dixon-Spain has been doing the event for about 20 years and said it was a great success with lovely people.

Jean Goddard, from the Red Cross in Grantham, said: “We’re extremely happy with the total raised from the day and we’re grateful to the garden owners.”
