LETTER: Criminals should clean our streets

Have your say

THE Government has stated many times recently that a programme will soon come into force that certain convicted criminals will have to work a minimum of 28 hours a week.

These hours may be spent working in the community.

Can someone on the council put in a request for a few to tidy up our streets and pavements?

It is obvious the task is way beyond the capability of our present force.

If anyone needs convincing then they should take a walk from the Castle Sports Complex to West Elloe Avenue on both the pavement and the riverside pathways.

Please note – watch out for cyclists, no not on the cycle path, on the footpath!

I have no doubt many readers will be in the same situation as our once beautiful town sinks further into the mire.
