LETTER: £400 for Royal British Legion Spalding branch

I would like to thank Albert Slater of the Weston Fun Farm car boot sale for his permission to allow us to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal on July 13. The event was an unqualified success.

Thanks are also due to the public whose generosity resulted in the gate collection netting £302, additionally the sale of Poppy Appeal associated goods combined with our own car boot stall raised a further £110.

Finally, the volunteers who man these events are also to be congratulated on their fortitude in the face of my continual call for yet more effort.

If you wish to thank these people yourselves a great many of them will be in attendance at Springfields during the Festival weekends.
