A COUPLE wanting a licence to open their bed and breakfast home up for weddings and private functions will have their case heard next week.

Brendan and Caroline Hyden have applied to South Holland District Council for the premises licence for Garnsgate Hall at Lutton Garnsgate.

The couple propose to use the venue for plays, films, live and recorded music, dancing, late night refreshments and alcohol, seven days a week.

However, several letters of objection have been submitted from nearby residents.

They are concerned about noise from functions late at night and the 2am finish time for several of the activities. Road safety has also been cited.

The council’s committee of the licensing authority will consider the application on Monday.
