MR Antony Roy Withyman, of Norghate, Pinchbeck, died on December 22 in Peterborough City Hospital. He was 74.

Born in Sleaford, he was the son of Jack and Gwen Withyman. He attended the Parish Church Day School, Spalding Grammar School and Emmanuel College, Cambridge.

Mr Withyman was a solicitor at Maples and Son, in Spalding.

He was a churchwarden at St Mary’s Church, Pinchbeck, for ten years and worshipped there for over 60 years, and he was a bellringer.

He played rugby for Spalding, was a founder member of Spalding Squash Club, belonged to the golf club and was on the council of Spalding Gentleman’s Society.

Mr Withyman leaves his wife Judith and sons Tom and James.

His daughter Kate passed away seven days after his death.

A thanksgiving service was held at St Mary’s Church, Pinchbeck.

Family mourners were Judith Withyman (widow), Tom and Gaenor Withyman, William and Charlotte, James and Liz Withyman, Max, Grace and Wilfred, Peter Hardy, Janet and Christopher Thorn and Eleanor Thorn.
