A Spalding charity held its own afternoon tea party in honour of Her Majesty’s 90th birthday
The Spalding NSPCC branch hosted the afternoon at the Woodlands Hotel on Tuesday June 14th. The dress code was formal, which included some of the ladies wearing royal-style hats.
The tea party was also a fundraising afternoon, which the group raised an amazing £634 from the party and a raffle which took place during the afternoon.
One of the organisers, Mandy Reeve said that it was a traditional tea party afternoon.
“We had a traditional afternoon tea party with all the food and drink you would expect at a tea party.”
The group of 54 people enjoyed a duet and also sang the national anthem during the afternoon.
The Queen also made an appearance...In the form of a cardboard cut-out. The guests took pictures with ‘Her Majesty’ and had the chance to shake ‘Her’ hand which was described as a very exciting experience. To donate to NSPCC go to their web-site www.nspcc.org.uk to find out how.
