STAFF at Spalding’s Priory School put on a brave face to have their legs waxed for charity.

About £300 is to be divided between the school and charity Hope for Children following the event organised by Miss Spalding competition finalist Danielle Barber.

Danielle said: “We had to arrange a fundraising event as part of the competition and I volunteer at the Priory School.

“I asked them if they would be willing and it meant I could give something back to them as a thank you for letting me volunteer.”

The waxing was carried out by Sally Younger and Lorraine Davis, teachers at the Perfection salon at the George Farmer Technology and Language College.

Among those to have their legs waxed on the day was Priory School headteacher Darran Bland.

Danielle said: “Everyone was fantastic. I went in and suggested the idea of having the event and also that he might like to take part. I asked very nicely.”
