Residents in Weston Hills can expect more disruption over the next two days while heavy plant machinery moves through the village to recover the USAF F-15 fighter jet from its crash site.
Police say much of the machinery will be approaching from the north end of the village and residents are asked to be patient.
Access along Broadgate will be severely restricted between the junction with Moulton Chapel Road and Fengate Drove. Residents will be able to access their homes but not travel past the entrance to the crash site, so some may have to take a long way round.
Insp Jim Tyner said: “For the past few days, we have been able to relax the road closure for residents, but for the next couple of days there will be no access through the cordon. This is necessary for safety reasons.”
He said that it is hoped the recovery phase will be complete and the roads fully open by Saturday.
