TWITCHERS and nature enthusiasts should flock to get tickets for this year’s RSPB Wash cruises on the Boston Belle.
Starting from Sluice Bridge, Boston, the four-and-a-half hour cruise heads down to the Witham mouth and into The Wash.
The chance to venture into the rarely-glimpsed environment of the UK’s largest estuary and home to sea birds and other wildlife is one of the many draws of the cruises.
Last year more than 100 bird species were seen with each trip seeing an average of 60 species. Seals were also frequently spotted.
The return journey follows the River Welland, bordered on both sides by saltmarsh, including RSPB Frampton Marsh reserve.
There are 17 cruises, leaving at various times depending on tides until the season concludes in October. The first is on April 13, departing at 9am. It is advisable to bring warm clothing and a set of binoculars.
Tickets cost £17.50 for adults and £9 for children (non-members).
