Crowland

CROWLAND Abbey traditional craft fair this bank holiday Monday is from 10am until 4pm. Variety of stalls including locally milled flour, chutney and jam, cakes, candles, crochet, hand sewing, jewellery, knitted items, painting and soap. There are also stalls of books and plants. Barbecue and refreshments. Free admission.

CROWLAND Neighbourhood Panel meeting is on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Parish Rooms, Hall Street.

DONINGTON

ONCE again members of Jean Bartle’s troupes, The Mad Tappers and Bosom Friends will be performing at Gosberton Public Hall on Wednesday at 2pm. It is in aid of Jean’s charity, Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Jean has raised an amazing £17,500 and it is hoped this event will make it £18,000. Tickets cost £3.50 which include entertainment by the Mad Tappers and Bosom Friends, and a delicious tea party with food supplied by members. Guests are being asked to wear something pink if possible. Tickets are available from Genifer in Gosberton on 01775 841033, or Barbara in Donington on 01775 821175 or at the door on the day.

GEDNEY DYKE

BINGO will take place in the village hall on the following Wednesdays, May 8, 15, 22 and 29. Eyes down at 7.30pm. Refreshments are available.

GOSBERTON

MOBILE library will be in Gosberton tomorrow at Field Close, 10-11am and then at Godfrey Avenue, 11.05am-noon.

THE Methodist flower festival opens today in the chapel in Salem Street, running through to Monday, from 10am to 6pm daily. The theme is ‘God’s creation’ and refreshments are available throughout. On Sunday there is an all age worship at 10am and in the evening a Songs of Praise at 6pm.

GOSBERTON Parish Church flower and craft festival continues until Monday, 10am to 5pm daily. Theme is ‘A great day out’. Various stalls and refreshments served throughout.

GOSBERTON Churches Together met last week and dates arranged were the Christian Aid Service on Sunday, May 26 at 3pm at St Gilbert and St Hugh’s Church, Gosberton Clough and Risegate; Sea Sunday Service at Surfleet Reservoir on Sunday, July 21 at 6pm; One World Week at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, on Sunday, October 27 at 10am. Next Churches Together meeting is at Gosberton Risegate Methodist on June 27 at 7.30pm.

GOSBERTON CLOUGH AND RISEGATE

THE Risegate Methodist Church is having a plant sale and coffee afternoon on Saturday, May 11 at 1.30pm. There will also be a raffle, cake stall and refreshments.

HOLBEACH BANK

THANKS to everyone who supported the jumble/table top sale at the weekend when £475 was raised for Friends of Holbeach Bank School. Because the school is being taken over as a polling station today the children will be going to Fleet Wood Lane School for a joint activity day.

LUTTON

SPORT and general knowledge pub quiz is being held at The Jolly Crispin tomorrow at 9pm. £1 each team player - no limit on team size. Prize for winning team. All proceeds will go to charity.

SPALDING

FLOWER festival at Broad Street Methodist Church opens at 10am on Friday, finishing on Tuesday. On Sunday there will be services at 9am and 10.30am and the church will be open until 4pm. Refreshments will be available in the hall and there will also be craft, preserves, books and Fairtrade stalls. On May 10 the church will host a concert by the ever-popular Eric Wayman and the Haven Singers from Boston. Tickets are available from the church or from 01775 769438.
