New town councillor needed in Bourne

BOURNE Town Council is looking for another councillor to join its ranks.

There is currently one vacancy, which is due to be filled by co-option on Tuesday, July 26, at 8.30pm in the Town Hall.

To be considered for co-option, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

They must be registered as a government elector of the parish (Cawthorpe, Dyke, Twenty and Bourne) on the current electoral register, or have worked, lived or owned property in the parish during the last 12 months,

Anyone wishing to be considered should write to the town clerk Nelly Jacobs at The Town Hall, North Street, Bourne, PE10 9EA, by 5pm on Monday, July 25.

Applicants must provide personal details and the reasons they want to become a councillor.

Bourne Town Council will invite all possible candidates to attend the meeting for a personal introduction.

Should more than one application be received, councillors will decide the appointment by a vote, or series of votes, in order to obtain a majority decision.
