Little London post office in Spalding is to be modernised and have its opening hours extended.
Fron March 11, the branch will now open an extra 24 hours a week, be open seven days a week and no longer have lunchtime closing.
Services at the new-style Post Office ‘local’ will be provided from low-screened service points, located at the end of the retail till, on the right hand side of the shop as you enter.
Services will be available throughout the shop’s opening hours: Monday to Saturday: 8am – 7pm; Saturday & Sunday: 9am – 1pm.
Enhanced local services will include manual banking (non-barcoded transactions), Transcash, and Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide International parcels. Payment by cheque will still be accepted.
The branch closes for refurbishment on Monday, March 7 at 5.30pm and re-opens at 1pm on the FRiday. Alternative branches in the area include Spalding Post Office on Winsover Road and Matmore Gate Post Office.
Kevin Shepherd, Post Office area manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are.
“We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
