Revised plans have been submitted to South Holland District Council for re-development of the former Burdens Motors site on Winsover Road.

In 2009, consent was given for a unit to be occupied by a Spar convenience store with a second retail unit built alongside.

But applicants Blakemore Retail Ltd, which runs Spar shops, are now seeking consent for a single retail unit – saying a second is not financially viable due to contaminated land.

If planning consent is given, the new shop will have 14 parking spaces. Access to the parking area will be via Carrington Road.

Plans include a new ATM machine and anti-ram bollards. The proposed store will be of a modern design with grey insulated cladding panels above the shopfront and the aluminium glazed shopfront will have bi-parting entrance doors.
