A new style of church meeting comes to Spalding on Sunday when Peterborough-based KingsGate Community Church launches a service in the town.
‘Cafe church’ is relaxed and informal with bistro-style seating, free coffees, tea and cakes served throughout the evening, and lively music with a broadcast of an inspiring talk recorded from KingsGate’s morning service.
The first series of services in Spalding feature talks by speaker, author and broadcaster J.John.
Leader Dave Smith said: “Many Spalding people are in our regular congregation but we also realise that not everyone is able to make the journey every week.
“Our aim is to appeal to people who would like to experience church and what it means to live a Christian life but in a less traditional way.”
The Spalding cafe church services are being held for an initial run of five weeks in the South Holland Centre starting at 6.45pm.
