A casino table, Scalextric track and an electronic shooting range all added to the fun at the James Bond-themed Johnson Hospital Ball on Saturday evening.

Held at the Springfields Events Centre in Spalding, this was the ball’s seventh year and one of the most successful.

And, after it being previously announed it would be the last, guests were buoyed by the news that a new committee has been formed to take the event forward into 2016.

Some 525 guests arrived, to be greeted by the sight of Bond girls Stephanie Lindt and Katie Groark, complete with Aston Martin.

The committee had decorated the hall and a fantastic evening raised £4,500, to be split between the Hospital League of Friends and a fund to buy equipment for the hospital.

Johnson facilities coordinator Anne Cudlipp, who was on the organising committee, said: “It was going to be our last one, but now new committee members have stepped forward and the ball will be back next year, at the same superb venue on July 9.

“Guests on Saturday have already made suggestions for thye 2016 theme.”
