SPALDING Guide Hannah Pettit hit high notes with her oboe last week as she made two public performances with the National Scout and Guide Symphony Orchestra in Berkshire.
Sixty-five youngsters met as strangers on Monday and by Friday they all played together as a well oiled machine to perform works by composers including Borodin and Elgar.
Hannah (18) said: “This week’s been absolutely fantastic – I’ve had so many opportunities.
“Meeting people from all over the UK has been amazing and it’s only the magic of being a guide that has made this possible. I’ve enjoyed learning to play my oboe already, but I’ve never played in such a big group and getting it all sorted in a week was a huge pressure.”
