FOUR mums will don bras decked out with tulips to take part in a 26-mile charity walk.

The women, all in their early 30s, got to know each other at the school gates and decided to take part in the London MoonWalk in Hyde Park on May 12 in aid of breast cancer research.

Jenna Kennedy-Smith, Amie Carter, Julie Pike and Sally Sauntson, who have adopted the team name Tiptoe Through the Tulips in honour of Spalding’s heritage, have been building up their training for the event since October and are hoping to complete the walk in under six hours.

Jenna said: “Sally has done the London marathon in the past and Amie the Great Eastern Run, but Julie and I are completely exercise phobic.

“But it has been going really well. We have been training two or three times a week and have built up to 16 miles averaging about 13 minutes a mile.”

The four have already secured £600 sponsorship but anyone interested in adding to their total can do so by going to www.walkthewalkfundraising.org/tiptoethroughthetulips
