A new multi-academy trust, combining two local federation, is set to oversee nine of the areas schools - with organisers promising a ‘high standard of achievement’ for the pupils involved.

The new ‘Multi Academy Trust’ will combine the 3,400 pupils and 450 staff of the Phoenix Federation of Schools and the Witham Academies Federation – which look after Carlton Road Academy, Fishtoft Academy, Park Academy, The Pioneers Free School, Staniland Academy and Haven High Academy and Sixth Form Centre in Boston, as well as Gosberton Academy and Wygate Park Academy, in Spalding,

Calling the move a ‘major Boston education initiative, executive head teacher of Witham Academies Federation Adrian Reed said he was pleased to announce the new trust in a statement issued today (Tuesday).

The statement added: “Both organisations have worked with the Regional Schools Commissioner and Department for Education officials to ensure that this development will bring about maximum opportunities for the children and young people that such an expanded organisation will serve.”

It said the partnership will ‘ensure high standards of achievement and progress for all of its pupils’.

Jayne Coddington, Chair of Boston Witham Academies Federation, said: “This is a clear commitment to our motto – working in partnership to raise achievement for all.”

Interim Chair of The Phoenix Federation Of Schools, which includes the Gosberton Academy and Wygate Park Academy, in Spalding, Daniel Elkington said: “This is a clear indicator that Boston is a town that can work together to achieve even better outcomes, improving on capacity, for our children and for our future.”

It is expected that organisational plans and operations will be completed for the start of the new academic year in September 2016.
