COUNCILLORS in Holbeach say they are still trying to arrange a meeting with Royal Mail bosses over the future of the town’s delivery office.

Holbeach Parish Council chairman Coun Rita Rudkin said a date had yet to be fixed to discuss the concerns of local residents.

However, at last week’s parish council meeting, she said there had been a positive meeting with South Holland and the Deepings MP John Hayes and union officials.

Coun Rudkin reported that Mr Hayes had pledged his support to the campaign to save the delivery office from closure.
