It never rains but it pours at the movies most of the time, but last night the heavens cleared to make an annual fireworks display in Spalding a glittering success.
Around 2,000 spectators gathered in front of the gardens at Springfields Outlet Shopping centre for A Night at the Movies.
Shaken but not stirred by the weather conditions from earlier in the day, the synchronised display kicked off with a flame effect explosion and unmistakable music from a James Bond film - with a double dose of sparkling action later from the film Spectre.
For the children, a colourful journey through Disney favourites had them singing and dancing.
One little girl took her coat off to reveal an Elsa dress and started dancing and a little boy on his father’s shoulders flung his arms in the air as the sky lit up in blue for Let It Go. Arnas Lenkas (5), of Spalding, said: “This is the best song ever. I really like these fireworks.”
Introduced by Lincs FM presenter John Marshall, other films visited included Pink Pantha, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park and Star Wars – but the best humour was saved until nearly the end when, after another explosion, the crowd heard the iconic words of Michael Caine in The Italian Job, “You were only supposed to blow the ****** doors off!”
