GARDEN waste collections for those living in South Kesteven will be made once a month between November and March.
South Kesteven District Council will be redirecting its staff to do more street cleaning in place of their usual rounds on the fortnightly green bin service, which is being reduced during winter.
Coun John Smith, healthy environment portfolio holder, said: “The amount of garden waste we have collected in previous winters has been quite small and many residents don’t even bother to put their bins out to be emptied.
“So when local people told us they would be happy with a monthly collection between now and March if that meant more could be done to collect litter from key sites, we thought that was a good idea.”
