A Market Deeping newsagent is promising customers more choice under the same roof after being given off-license status.

Deeping News, part of Deeping Shooping Centre off Godsey Lane, can now sell wines, beers, spirits and other alcohol from its store after it was granted licensing privileges by South Kesteven District Council.

Business owners Dave Uppal and Tracey Martin said: ““This is a huge step for us and we are sure it will give the business a big boost.

“The license lets us offer our customers a new service and we plan more improvements for the future.”

Deeping News has been a fixture in the town’s shopping centre for many years before Dave and Tracey took it over in 2013.

The business couple have also taken the step of expanding its newspaper and magazine delivery service to include all of Market Deeping and Deeping St James.

Kevin Smith, manager of Deeping Shopping Centre, said: “Even though Dave and Tracey have only been here for just over a year, their business has already expanded rapidly which is great to see.

“The store adds to the diverse mix of outlets at the centre for shoppers and so we wish them well for the future.”

Deeping News is open 5am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 5am to 1pm on Sunday.
