South Holland women joined the thousands taking part in the 18th MoonWalk London on Saturday.
Sporting Saturday Night At The Movies-themed bras they raised thousands of pounds for vital breast cancer causes in the annual event organised by health charity Walk the Walk Worldwide.
Their contribution will help the London moonlit walk – starting and finishing on Clapham Common – to net over £6 million.
Over 17,000 women – and some brave men – set out on the overnight walk to cover eit-her a Marathon or Half-Marathon distance. They included The Minions, from Spalding, Bourne and Thurlby, who raised more than £4,000.
The Mermaids – from the Spalding, Cowbit, Surfleet and Pinchbeck areas – netted over £2,000.
The Maples Moonwalkers, from Spalding’s Maples Solicitors, covered the 26.2 miles in seven hours and eight minutes and have so far raised £1,500 of their £2,000 target.
They wore Wonderwoman-style bras decorated by Rachel Stevens, a solicitor with Roythornes.
A team from The Fitness Company at Spalding completed the walk, too, and with money from sponsors and a coffee, cake and raffle morning at the gym, have so far raised around £1,500.
