A BOURNE teenager has had a last-minute recall to the finals of the national Miss Teen Princess UK competition after narrowly missing out in a voting round last November.
Molly Orford (13) received a call from the competition organisers while on holiday earlier this month, saying a place had become available and inviting her to the glittering event at Alexandra Palace in London on Friday, September 2.
Molly, who lives in Cedar Drive and is a pupil at Bourne Grammar School, said: “I was so excited when they said a place had become available. I feel I owe it to my friends and family who supported me by voting back in November to give it my best shot.”
The competition gives finalists the chance to experience the world of modelling and take part in a professional photo-shoot at a top London studio.
Molly and her mum Barbara will spend two days in London preparing for the final alongside 25 girls aged 13 to 15 in the Miss Teen Princess competition, while the Miss Teen Queen title will be awarded to a girl in the older age category.
The final itself will feature celebrity guests and a VIP judging panel.
Finalists are asked to fundraise for the Make a Difference Foundation, and Molly will be supporting the good cause by doing a sponsored cycle ride around Rutland Water on Monday, August 29.
